Beach Of The Month

Kua Bay on the Big Island is one of the best beaches in Hawaii. This little gem is located about 15 minutes from the resorts of Waikoloa and just about ten minutes from the north end of Kona. If you like clear blue waters and a sandy floor, this is the place for you. It is a great place to spend a peaceful morning or jump in the water for some fun. On calm days it is like a big glassy pool.

This scenic beach is perfect for a wide variety activities. It is a great place for swimming , body surfing, or body boarding. The waves can be quite big and powerful in the winter months, so if in doubt don't go out.  On calmer days the bay is often visited by pods of dolphins, which come within a hundred yards of shore sometimes. In season, whales can be seen frolicking and breaching the surface with their young. Overall, it is just an excellent place to hang out.
