The thought of becoming a homeowner can be very intimidating to those who are still trying to establish finances. There are worries about a down payment, approval for a loan, and finding a home within means. Sometimes it seems a near impossibility to have the proud title as a homeowner. I'm here to remind you: "Where there's a will, there's a way." The first step is to find resources to help you buy your first home.

That's where Hawaiʻi HomeOwnership Center comes into play. Hawaiʻi HomeOwnership Center (HHOC) is a non-profit organization assisting Hawaiʻi residents with buying homes by educating, informing, and provide support to create successful first-time homeowners. With their one-time membership fee of $60, you will have access to:

  • Home buyer education classes (Please note: there is an additional fee for online classes)

  • Individualized counseling

  • Workshops

  • Refresher classes

  • Post-purchase counseling/services

Every journey has a starting point, and with the support that Hawaiʻi HomeOwnership Center offers, you will be on the right path to your new home. There are programs available for first-time home buyers that request a home buyer education certificate. This will be the place to obtain yours.

If you have further questions, please visit Hawaiʻi HomeOwnership Center FAQs page for more details.

When you are ready to find your home, I am here to help you.

A hui hou aku nō, mālama pono.
