Having lived in Hawaii all my life, I have often asked people what draws them to the Big Island, and buy a piece of Real Estate on an island with a live volcano [they typically chuckle].  Here are the 3 Reasons why people move to the Big Island of Hawaii:

They Cry When They Leave

Most people don't really know why they move to the Big Island, except that every time they come to visit the Big Island, when they leave, they either cry when they are on the plane, or have an overwhelming sensation of "Home" come across themSome people experience that feeling as soon as their feet hit the tarmac, others feel it when they swim in the ocean.

Dreaming of Hawaii when They aren't Here

As children, many people remember having dreams of Hawaii.  Some will remember drawing pictures of Dolphins, having never seen a dolphin yet.  Some will be so attracted to the Hula or the Hawaiian language, that they study it on their free time, or are intrigued by ancient civilizations or indigenous cultures & natural lifestyles, and will take classes on it while they are here.

They Long to Return Home to Hawaii

Most people who buy here on the Big Island have typically visited once or twice before.  They are knowledgeable in the areas they want to be in, and have been shopping for the best lifestyle that fits their needs, every time they come.  I will typically tell people to use www.vrbo.com or a trusted vacation rental website, where they can experience & stay in each part of the island that their family would like to explore or discover more of.  This way they have a hands-on education of the Big Island before they buy in the area.
If any of these reasons resonate with you, and you have been coming to Hawaii wondering why you are attracted to our island, give me a call-text or email at 808-756-4874 | Claire808@Hawaii.rr.com .   I can shed some light on what you may be feeling.. help you find the place in the area that may be calling you, and introduce you to like-minded people who may have the same interests.   I look forward to meeting you soon!
